Innerleithen & surrounding area

  • The Cuddy Bridge Innerleithen

Innerleithen is a small, friendly, bustling town which lies on the Tweed, and is surrounded by outstanding countryside. The town caters well for holiday-makers not only with a selection of interesting shops, friendly pubs and small restaurants, but also with tourist attractions such as St Ronan’s Well and Smails Printing Works (National Trust for Scotland). Five minutes down the road you can have a grand day out at Traquair House, Scotland’s oldest inhabited house.

Inspiring Innerleithen and its surrounding countryside will encourage the artists and photographers among you, as will trips to museums and galleries in nearby towns.

For the more active there is a multitude of lovely local walks (including some easy access paths) Why not trek with Alpacas during your stay or book a hack at Caerleebank Stables?

Innerleithen is famous for it’s downhill track which is one of the 7stanes mountain bike trails. It’s also ideal for road cycling and is on the popular Tour o’ the Borders circuit. A smooth surfaced path which links Innerleithen, Cardrona and Peebles, and takes you to Glentress, another huge draw for mountain bikers. Glentress is also the home of Go-Ape tree top adventure course and very close to Borders Segways. If you are fond of swimming, both Peebles and nearby Galashiels have swimming pools. Peebles Hydro hotel also runs Day Spa breaks.

Innerleithen and the Scottish Borders have so much to offer we can’t possibly list them all here, but you will find extensive information at Cosaig self catering holiday house to help you plan your holiday. You can also view our tourist information here, or go to the Visit Scotland website.
