Comfy beds, spare pillows and plenty of freshly laundered, fluffy towels go without saying…but you can also expect much more when you stay at Cosaig.

Your welcome pack will include: tea, coffee, milk, butter, sugar, bread and eggs and there will also be a couple of local treats! The kitchen is very well-equipped and we provide tea towels, a few dishwasher tablets, and washing up liquid.

Experienced mountain bikers who know the local trails also offer tuition and guided cycles (Ridelines)

Walking

The Tweed Valley is walkers’ heaven, and there are walks aplenty straight from Cosaig’s doorstep. There are guidebooks, maps, binoculars and wildlife reference books in the cottage, and even a foot spa for weary feet.

Dogs

As strong supporters of the Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary, we welcome dogs at Cosaig and are keen that they should have happy holidays too (even down to not being left out when it comes to the welcome pack!) The area is renowned for fantastic walks, and the cottage is right beside a park where dogs are free to play. If like our greyhound Luke, your dog needs somewhere secure to run we will be very happy to show you or tell you about local fenced in fields (Luke is always chuffed to bits when he can show new friends his favourite places!) The cottage garden is secured by a 6 foot hedge, 6 foot fence and 6 foot gate.

If you are confident that your dogs can be left happily and safely in the cottage for short periods during your stay, then that is fine with us. If your dog prefers the security of a crate when left, we can provide an extra large one for their use if required.

You might fancy venturing further afield during your stay, in which case we provide a list of doggy day care options available for your four legged friends!

We are very happy to discuss your dog’s requirements and to make adjustments where we can. Here are some of the basics that we provide:

Food and water bowls are available, as are old towels for drying your dogs if it happens to rain! We’ll also leave a tennis ball or two in the cottage and some clean up bags.
We ask you to bring your dog’s own bed and to use the throws provided to protect the furniture in the cottage.

Disabled Access

Making Cosaig as accessible as possible within the limits of an old stone cottage, was our aim in developing the holiday house. View our access statement here.

We can lay out the furniture in the double bedroom to ensure that space is available to manoeuvre a wheelchair. Visitors who use wheelchairs indoors may want to bring a companion as the capacity to adapt the kitchen was limited. Please ask for details.

The park side entrance to the house is level and we have widened all our doors as far as possible, and considered the need for space in positioning our furniture.

The main bathroom has a level access shower with grab rails and We can also provide a shower chair for guests with limited mobility. We have installed grab rails by the toilet.

We have included details of accessibility of many of the local shops and tourist attractions within the tourism information pack in the cottage.
